Restoration: The New Creation
Statement of Belief
We believe after the events of Jesus' final return that He will establish His throne, a New Heaven, on a New Earth, where the righteous will reign with Him throughout eternity.
Revelation 21:3-4 — Revelation 22:3-5 — Isaiah 65:17-25 1)
Additional Information
After the final judgments and punishments at Jesus' final return, God engages once again in the work of creation. He provides a glimpse into the new heavens and new earth that He will create following the ultimate defeat of Satan and the wicked. This passage describes a world marked by joy, prosperity, and harmony, where sin's consequences are no more. In this new reality, God will dwell among His people, and sorrow, pain, and suffering will be eradicated (Isaiah 65:17-19).
Life in the new earth will flourish, and inhabitants will enjoy the fruits of their labor, experiencing peace and harmony (Isaiah 65:20-23). God will maintain close communion with His people, responding to their prayers before they even ask (Isaiah 65:24). Additionally, the new earth will be characterized by the absence of violence and enmity, fruits of the sin that is now eradicated, as all creatures will coexist harmoniously (Isaiah 65:25; Revelation 21:3-4).
This New Earth serves as the eternal home of the righteous, crowned by the city of New Jerusalem, which is the home of Jesus and wherein resides the throne of God (Revelation 22:3-5).
