Restoration: The Millenium

Statement of Belief

We believe the Millennium begins with the Second Coming when the living and resurrected righteous are taken into the air to meet Jesus and live with Him in heaven for a thousand years. During this time the earth will be destroyed and desolate, except for Satan.

Additional Information

The Millennium is a key component of Christian eschatology, serving as a framework for the sequence of events related to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The thousand-year period commences with the Second Coming when the living and resurrected righteous will be taken together into heaven to live with Jesus.

Revelation 20:1-10 outlines the primary events that occur during the Millennium. At the beginning of this period, an angel binds Satan and casts him into the abyss for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-3). Simultaneously, the righteous partake in the first resurrection and reign with Christ in heaven throughout the Millennium (Revelation 20:4-6). Meanwhile, the earth remains desolate, with all but Satan destroyed by the glory of God.

The Millennium, this grand thousand-year period, serves as the precursor to a monumental turning point in the narrative of humanity. As this epoch concludes, it ushers in a pivotal era that marks the definitive end of sin.

In this significant phase, termed 'The End of Sin', the age-old struggle between good and evil reaches its climax. This time at the end of the millennium ushers in the ultimate triumph over transgressions and wrongdoings that have long plagued the human race. It signifies the eradication of all moral failings, marking the close of a chapter filled with strife and conflict born from sin.

Thus, the transition from the Millennium to the End of Sin marks not just an end, but also a beginning - a fresh start for humanity, free from the shackles of sin, pointing towards a hopeful and righteous future.
