Salvation

Statement of Belief

We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life and died for our sins on the cross, thereby being qualified to forgive our sins and redeem us through the shedding of His blood, was raised from the dead to reign with the Father forevermore, and now offers to all humanity the free gift of salvation through belief on His name and acceptance of His sacrifice.

Salvation: An Amplified Statement of Belief

We believe in the extraordinary and holy life of Jesus Christ, a life lived in complete perfection without the tarnish of sin. As affirmed in 1 Peter 2:22, “He committed no sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth,” and 1 John 3:5 underscores, “You know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.” This sinless existence uniquely qualified Jesus to serve as a mediator between humankind and our Heavenly Father.

With profound love and grace, Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, willingly suffered an agonizing death on the cross, bearing the weight of our sins. His sacrifice, a culmination of His sinless life, signified the ultimate act of atonement, offering forgiveness to all who believe in His name. As John 3:16 elucidates, “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

The precious blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross transcends human comprehension, for it is the divine currency that purchased our redemption. Romans 5:8 encapsulates the profound significance of His sacrifice: “But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

In a glorious demonstration of divine power and triumph over death, Jesus Christ was resurrected from the grave. As stated in Romans 1:4, “he was appointed the Son-of-God-in-power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.” This divine act authenticated His divinity and the truth of His teachings. Jesus was, and is, more than a human figure; He is the living, reigning Son of God.

In His ultimate authority, Jesus willingly laid down His life, thereby knowing the separation from the Father only a sinner should know, only to take it up again. As expressed in John 10:17-18, “This is why the Father loves me — because I lay down my life, so that I may take it back again. No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down of my own free will. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again.”

Today, the resurrected and reigning Jesus offers salvation to all of humanity. It is a divine gift that cannot be earned but is freely given to those who acknowledge their sins, believe in His name, and accept His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection. This is encapsulated in Jesus' own words in John 14:6: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

This is our belief in salvation: a free, life-transforming gift extended to all humanity by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life, sacrificed Himself on the cross, conquered death through resurrection, and now reigns eternally with the Father. By faith in His name and acceptance of His sacrifice, we are forgiven, redeemed, and given eternal life.
